Every parent wants the best school for their child. Buildings and brochures can look impressive, but what matters most is what happens inside the classroom. Here is a checklist to help you decide.
Visit and watch
- Are the children happy, busy and comfortable?
- Do teachers know the children by name and speak to them kindly?
- Are classrooms clean, safe and full of children’s own work?
- Is there space and time for play?
Questions to ask
- How do you teach reading and writing in the early years?
- How many children are in a class?
- How do you help a child who is finding something hard?
- How will you keep me informed about my child’s progress?
- What happens on a typical school day?
Think about the long term
A school that takes your child from kindergarten through primary means fewer changes and a steady foundation. Ask how the early years connect with the later grades.
Trust your feeling
After a visit, ask yourself: can I picture my child being happy here? Your own sense of a place is often the best guide.
We welcome every family to visit Happy Buds and ask all these questions. Book a tour in Kavindapadi.
